Logan Square with its magnificent is one of five famous Philadelphia Squares located on the museum mile.  It was named for James Logan, who had served  as secretary to William Penn and chief justice to  the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  It was the site for Civil War fund raising and also as a home for convalescing soldiers from the war.
